Pets (And Why None of Them are Mine)

The only animals I have in my life are not mine, they don't live with me and are owned by friends, family, or coworkers. And really, I don't spend a whole lot of time with them, but they are still there for comfort and smiles.

Mostly, there's Amos, our family dog that's back at my parents' house. He's a giant black Lab, full of love, adores being petted, and lately has been sleeping in the garage in his own bed with his own teddy bear. He's extremely lovable, adorable, and did I mention huge (so quite huggable)?

There's also Bo, my boyfriend's big tabby cat, Cooper, my friend John's miniature schnauzer, Riley and Bhrea, my coworker's dogs that come into the office sometimes, and the tabby cat that lives in housekeeping at one of my jobs. Although I don't spend much time around them, and they are not my animals, they're still nice to have around sometimes, and remind me of the animals I want someday.

I've been wanting a cat for a really long time. Just one cat to live with me in my apartment. However, I opt not to because I know I don't have the time and money to put towards a cat that it would deserve to have a good life. It would be in my house all alone most of the time, and that's really not fair. Maybe when I have my own house I'll have a little beagle and maybe a cat, but that is still a few years out from now.

I was going to say something or other about how cats sleep most of the day and as long as you’re there to cuddle at night, they’re low maintenance and could use a good home that isn’t in a shelter. But then I read your “about me” and saw how seriously crazy busy you are. And then I read that you play WoW and D3 and I lost my mind with joy.

Hee! 😀 Yeah at this point, I think having a cat would mean that my house would devolve into chaos faster than I could keep up with. Hopefully sometime in the future it won’t be a problem and I can get one. 🙂

WoW and D3 for the win! 🙂 Mostly been playing WoW lately, with new patch/raiding/dailies/fun stuff, mostly what I have time for. But my demon hunter on D3 is waiting for me when I get back! 😀

yep, chaos is right. When we first got our cat, he was so subdued and cuddly and just lay around all day. Now 2 months later we gallops (no really) around the apartment, is curious about everything, and plays with anything he gets his paws on. Love him, but he’s definitely more of a handful then I thought!

We had a cat like that when I was little, super smart, so he got into EVERYTHING. I would love a cat, even an older one maybe, but it’s just not the right time. I remember when you posted about first getting your kitty, super cute 🙂

So...what do you think?
